About the event

7-8pm PST - sponsored by South Bay Indigenous Solidarity A Narrated 25-minute Zoom live Slide Program with Q&A.   Contact Colleen Cabot at colleencabot@earthlink.net to receive the Zoom link. This short program summarizes the 10,000-year history and culture of the Amah Mutsun, their brutal experience of colonization and genocide, along with their cultural traditions today.  We’ll outline the impacts of the proposed mine on their sacred grounds of Juristac and what you can do to support the Amah Mutsun in defeating this mining proposal. Learn how to support the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band to protect their sacred grounds  of Juristac, just south of the San Francisco Bay Area. A proposed open pit sand and gravel mine threatens this sacred site, as well as the rich ecosystems the Tribe’s stewardship has protected throughout its history.  The Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the permit for this gravel mine could be released this summer by the Santa Clara County Planning Commission. Please invite interested friends and people from organizations to attend a pre-screening for arranging showings to their own groups.
